LM Training Specialists provides English Language Training and Employment Services to South Australia's Migrants and is a member of ACL Navitas Group. LM Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

LM Training Specialists has conducted a range of government funded programs as well as training in industry and in 2007/08 assisted over 2,500 clients from over 60 countries with their linguistic and vocational goals. LM Training Specialists offers a range of free services for migrants, including English language classes for AMEP and LLNP students, settlement assistance, free childcare AMEP, employment assistance and basic computer training.

Timeline

May 1995: LM Training Specialists won a three year contract with the Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs to provide a range of E.S.L./labour market programs for migrants.  Subsequently a variety of special purpose vocationally orientated courses were designed and delivered to meet the ever changing needs and demands of industry.

July 1998: LM Training Specialists was awarded a five year contract by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) to provide the Adult Migrant English Program. This program provides up to 510 hours of English language classes for recently arrived migrants and refugees.

July 1998: LM Training Specialists secured a three and a half year contract with the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DETYA) to provide Language, Literacy and Numeracy Training for employment purposes.

January 2002: LM Training Specialists was awarded another contract by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to provide the English Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program at both the basic and advanced levels.  LM Training Specialists is the main provider of this program for migrants in South Australia.

July 2003: LM Training Specialists was re-awarded the AMEP contract for another five years which has since been further extended until 2010.

In November 2006 LM Training Specialists became part of the ACL Navitas Group.  This further strengthens LM’s position as a quality provider of migrant education and employment services in South Australia.
